The Oberheim Matrix 1000 synthesizer

By admin | August 7, 2009

The eighties was an absolutely wild decade.  It was a decade all about decadence.  Nothing exemplified that decadence more than New Wave. New wave is renowned for one instrument: the Oberheim Matrix 1000 synthesizer.  This instrument owned the rock and pop charts of the eighties. It was so popular that we have now come full circle once again, as we can identify those keyboards based music in modern pop popular music. But ultimately, fads tend to transfer when it comes to popular music, and in 1992 there was a bomb that hit and it was called Nirvana. But peoples tastes changes over and over again.  Grunge eventually died, and guess what? New Wave has made somewhat of a comeback, as you hear the keyboards from rock bands such as Coldplay.
