Installation Process of Dish Network vs. Direct TV

I would like to know how one goes about getting satellite television service installed, and if there are any differences in the installation process between Dish Network vs. Direct TV. Is there a central location from which each satellite service sends out its installers, or are local technicians who work at local television repair or authorized outlets trained as either Dish Network vs Direct TV installers? Also, who do I call to arrange for installation of satellite television service? Is there a central number from which customer service arranges installation appointments, or is appointment making handled locally? Thank you for any answers you can give.
