Broadband ISP Speed

By admin | August 27, 2008

When comparing cable and DSL internet service providers, there are many things you need to consider, but an important one to understand is speed. Cable is known for its raw speed, but falls susceptible to numerous natural causes that can hinder the service to the point of languish.  Side by side, cable modem runs faster than DSL. Cable technology supports approximately 30 Mbps of bandwidth, whereas most forms of DSL cannot reach 10 Mbps.   There are DSL service providers that support 30 Mbps but are generally not offered due to cable’s strong market share. So be sure to check out the speed levels of the providers in your area prior to purchasing a plan.
