The importance of the short game in golf can not be stressed enough. Many times a good shot game will save par for you. If you can not make it to the green in regulation then the next best thing is a good chip shot to put you in one putt range. Playing from 140 yards in is one of the most important shots in your game. Knowing how to chip can lower your handicap and make you a stronger golfer. Practice with that wedge, nine iron, and even eight iron. Try a par three course occasionally to fine tune those chipping skills.
