Tattoo Infections

By admin | March 12, 2009

Before deciding to get a tattoo permanently inked into your body, you might want to take into consideration the health risks that it carries, which includes infections. The method of tattooing allows for a mechanism to come in contact with your blood and other bodily fluids. If the mechanism or equipment used has not been sterilized or has been used from one person to another, some diseases can be transmitted. Some of the common diseases or infections that can be transmitted because of this include tetanus, herpes simplex virus, tuberculosis, HIV, and hepatitis. Because of this, make sure that you get your tattoo done in a licensed studio which is state-regulated to ensure that they take the necessary precautions in avoiding these health risks.
