Saving Energy and Lowering Power Bills

By admin | March 30, 2009

By sealing the gaps of attics and walls, by adding insulation, replacing old with new windows, you can reduce power consumption. Insulation and replacements of doors and windows can make you eligible for tax credit. There are both federal and state incentives that are available for us. According to the Appraisal Institute, energy saving improvements will increase your home’s value by $20 for every $1 reduction in annual energy usage. In this case the value of the home was increased by $37,760 in current dollars — more than the net cost of the solar energy kit itself.  So you can see why so many are looking into homemade solar power.
