How to videos better then Guitar lesson books

When I was teaching myself how to play guitar I had bought a couple of books. I had learned the basics, the names of the strings and most of the major and minor chords. How ever I was stuck there. I didn’t know how to progress beyond that. I ended up taking some private lessons for a couple of years to broaden my knowledge of musical theory and advanced scales for guitar. How ever if I had my time back today, it appears that the best video guitar lessons can do all of that an more. The videos are coming out on dvd or online and are just like having a guitar teacher right in front of you.
