Dynamic IP address
By admin | February 28, 2008
Nowadays when networking through LAN and broadband are more common, dynamic IP addressing are being used in order to provide or assign the unique IP address to all the clients automatically with the help of Dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) servers. This in turn helps in lowering the burden of the network administrator to assign specific and unique IP address to each and every client separately. It also in turn allows other devices to share limited address space on a network, if not all the clients at any particular time are online. In almost all the recent most commonly used desktops operating systems, dynamic IP configuration is enabled by default so that to minimize the need to manually enter any of the settings in order to connect to a network with a DHCP server. DHCP is not the only technology in this field. Point-to-point protocol is also one of the most common protocols being used today for better and secures networking.
