A Hunter’s Custom Jewelry

By admin | June 28, 2008

My oldest daughter, Mimi, lives in Wyoming. Her husband, Joe, is an avid hunter and angler. Their two daughters, Tiffany and Samantha, are quite the outdoor girls. They have been camping and fishing since they were babies, so I guess they are used to it. A couple years ago, Joe went elk hunting and was lucky enough to bag a big bull elk. Elk are unique in that they have two ivory teeth. Joe kept those two ivory teeth, thinking someday he could make them into custom jewelry. He took them to a jewelry designer and had them made into pendants for each of his daughters. When I first heard this, I thought that sounded awful, but I have since seen the pendants and they are gorgeous. You wouldn’t even know that they are animal teeth if you didn’t know the history.
