Lilacs, the ‘Set and Forget’ Flower

By admin | April 12, 2008

Lilacs are strong, easy to grow and easy to maintain flowers. But even the strongest need some extra care now and then. Lilacs are fairly resilient to both disease and insects. If there is an insect problem after all it can often can be effectively treated with some common insecticides. A mildew problem can be taken care of using some fungicide.Actually, lilacs are pretty much ‘set and forget’ flowers, although ‘forget’ is a poor choice of words. If you enter a garden with blooming lilacs you just can’t miss the beautiful smell of this flower. Sadly the flowers blooms for just a week or two, three if you are extremely lucky.
