How Minnesota makes money
By admin | January 31, 2008
There is a lack of western Minnesota tourism that is starting to hurt the economy in that part of the state. The mining up there makes up most of the economy with logging coming in second, but next comes tourism. I’m sure you have all heard of 3M, but do you know where the name comes from? One M stands for Minnesota, one M stands for Mining, and I don’t remember what the other M stands for, but that shows you how much mining means to Minnesota. Logging is big because there are a lot of trees in Minnesota. I have never seen the logging sites so I don’t know if they clear cut or not. I doubt it because I don’t hear the protests like those that come out of California.
