Have You Ever Had to sell mortgage note?

I am sort of in a bind. I have a wonderful job opportunity. This job will pay much more and actually we would be living in a less expensive area. But we just bought our home and then the market collapsed and home prices have been falling. We’re upside down on our mortgage. But we have heard that you sell mortgage note to a real estate investor and if the numbers work out, you can walk away. We may need to add some cash to the deal, but we are in a position to do that. I think this is going to work out for us.
