Keeping the cost of teenage car insurance down

With the price of insurance premiums going through the roof it is becoming increasingly difficult to get car insurance for a young or first time driver. This was my experience when I approached several agencies to get quotes for teenage car insurance. My car is a Subaru and this particular model has a ridiculous premium attached top it because it is considered to be a high risk vehicle. I have been trying to leverage my parents standing with their existing providers. This appears to have some potential merit to save me some money. This is just a tip for others that may be having trouble finding affordable insurance.
