By admin | February 22, 2008

Bodhran is the famous and traditional beat of Irish music. Usually, it produces a deep sound and it can also be played in different styles. There are basically two types of Bodharn hand drums that one can find in the market toady- the fixed one and the tunable one. Both these types come in different sizes ranging from 16 inches to 26 inches.

If you choose a larger drum the sound would be deeper and also you will get more space to maneuver your hand and thus produce different kind of sounds. While the fixed drum is a ready to use one the tunable one can be adjusted according to temperature and humidity, to produce the desired sound. Prices of both these varieties of Irish drums start from 50 to 60 dollars and go on increasing as per the size and the quality.
